QUETTA: Member of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) of Balochistan on Saturday urged the government that the international community should be approached for pressurising India to stop its interference in the province. Balochistan Assembly Speaker Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani presided over the assembly session. Opposition leader Maulana Abdul Wasey moved the adjournment motion to debate the arrest of an officer of Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing’s (RAW) officer in Balochistan. He said that the security forces had arrested the in-service RAW officer from Sarawan, which proved that India is involved in random acts of terror in Balochistan. He said that the arrested Indian officer is to be retired from service in 2022. He said, “Our government should take the issue of arrest of Indian intelligence agency officer and involvement of India in Balochistan situation up with the world community”. Maulana Wasey said that the Baloch and Pashtoon people are not terrorists. He said that religious seminaries are not providing training to commit terrorism. Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that the adjournment motion had special importance and he endorsed it. The MPAs would be given an in-camera briefing on the arrest of Indian agent during the ongoing session. The speaker said that the adjournment motion is approved for a two-hour debate on March 29.
While speaking on a point of order, Deputy Opposition Leader Eng Zamarak Piralizai said that the issue of Kala Bagh Dam had once again been taken up in the meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI). Provincial Minister for Education Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal said that the government of Balochistan would oppose the move. Later, the House was adjourned till March 29.
