QUETTA: Eight people have reportedly been injured in two bomb attacks that hit Rawalpindi-bound Jaffar Express in Mach area of Kachhi Bolan district, on Friday.
The police sources said that Jaffar Express train was on its way from Quetta to Rawalpindi when two bombs exploded on the track, leaving eight passengers wounded. “First bomb exploded which hit the locomotive of the train and soon after second bomb planted on track went off which badly damaged the bogie No. 3 of the train,” the police sources said, adding that resultantly, eight commuters suffered injuries while the locomotive and the bogie No. 3 was damaged.
The rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Mach. Later, the serious injured were referred to Quetta. The police officials said that unidentified men planted two bombs along railway track which hit the train. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the entire area to trace the suspects. Further probe was underway.
