ABBOTTABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Youth Affairs and Culture Mahmood Khan on Thursday said that residents of Palas and Pattan areas of Kohistan should live with peace and harmony and they will have to abide by decision made in the jirga.
“If anybody would violate the decision then we will register cases under terrorism act against them,” he said this while addressing a jirga of Kohistan here at the Commissioner’s Office. “I know people of Palas and Pattan are brave and peaceful and they will not let anybody to destroy peace in Kohistan,” he said.
In the jirga, Chief Minister’s adviser Abdul Haq, Zargul Khan, MPA Wajeehuz Zaman, Maulana Asmatullah, Abdul Sattar Khan, Hazara Division Commissioner Muhammad Akbar Khan, Hazara DIG Saeed Wazeer and five members each from Palas and Pattan peace committees participated.
The minister said that all residents of Kohistan district whether they are from Palas or Pattan have equal right on the government-provided resources. He said that the objective of this sitting was to eliminate the confusion amongst the masses and they should live peacefully as they were living in the past.
He said that if anybody would be found violating the decision or involved in any sort of sabotage activity then the government would deal with iron hands. He further said that the government has initiated several mega projects in Kohistan.
He said that Kohistan was the gateway of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor which would change the fate of the area. “We must know that our enemies are against development in Pakistan,” he said.
